What can I be doing better to improve yield and improve output quality?
(This seems like a long time compared to what others do, but I’ve found this to work well for increasing the yield.) The better yields I’ve had I do a tight warmup for 1 minute, then I increase the pressure every 45-60 seconds for a total squish time of 5-6 minutes. If I go over 210f I feel like the rosin looks noticeably darker in color (have other experienced this?) so I don’t go over 210f unless it’s a 2nd press. I’ve found 200f-205f temp yields better, but still not enough. I’ve found <185f temp doesn’t yield that much. I use 160 micron bags (fold the bottoms to make the bag stand vertically for pressing). I’ve only pressed flower so far, no hash yet. I‘m using the 6 ton dab press (3x5 inch plates). How can I increase my yields? The yields range anywhere from 11%-16%. I have the following strains of flower (all auto) that I can press (from our last few harvests):
