It contains about 2,500 full bibliographic citations, original sources, availability, key words more » and abstracts. This AFWL Technical Report is the first release of the bibliography to date. The data base is stored on our IBM System 2000. Three years ago, the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (AFWL) initiated a project to compile a computerized data base of pulsed power research papers. It is a rapidly expanding field of applied physics as evidenced by the growth in published literature. Pulsed power and high-voltage technologies are playing an ever increasing role in weapons' effects simulation, fusion power research, power distribution, materials processing and medical research. A study of horizontal falling film evaporation on horizontal tubes with smooth and structured surfaces was completed. A study was undertaken to clarify the performance and the enhancement mechanism of the commercial T-fin GEWA-T tube. A data base was established for single-phase heat transfer and friction performance of spirally fluted (helical repeated rib) tubes. Three of the 86 are provisionally recommended as useful criteria for design.
A computer study narrowed the possible criteria from 237 to 86. Entropy generation has been added to the usual list of constraints and objectives. A complete list of possible thermal-hydraulic performance evaluation criteria for single-phase enhancement has been developed. The present compilation of 221 entries, which updates and expands the previous more » list of 185 companies, is presented. The third data base consists of a listing of manufacturers and their products related to enhanced heat transfer technology. Bibliographic reports of these two citation data bases have been issued.
